Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Project

The Integrated Service Digital Network (ISDN) Project was trail-blazed by the City Government of Tagum as part of the open governance initiative of the administration during the historic transfer to the state-of-the-art new City Hall last March of 2016. Along with the transition of operations to the new government center, came the ISDN PRI line, which is a high-speed digital connection for voice and data between private automatic branch exchange (PABX) and public switched telephone network (PSTN) as part of the 24.8M Php budget allocation for ICT components including public address system and surveillance system. The system was used in implementing the 24/7 trunkline services using a single number to access all the departments for customer service concerns, as well as to improve communication within the organization thru a faster, efficient and streamlined ISDN service.

With the forward looking administration and the principles of open governance in mind, the City Government has been maximizing the advantages of ISDN in catering multiple concurrent calls/connections (up to 30 connections) to respond faster to the needs of the citizens and other stakeholders and the convenience of voice and video conferencing between decision makers in the organization. To date, the City Government of Tagum is one of the few local government units in Davao Region that utilizes the ISDN PRI in its 24/7 trunkline services catering not only Tagum City residents but also other stakeholders from neighboring cities & municipalities.
