Geographical Information Systems for Electronic Real Property Taxation and Assessment (eRPTA-GIS)
The Geographical Information Systems for Electronic Real Property Taxation and Assessment (eRPTA-GIS) is a project under the Provincial Assessors Office which aims to digitize and centralize Tax Maps of the thirty municipalities within the Batangas Province and to link the Tax Maps to their corresponding Tax Declarations as well as to display the data in a visual format. The project involved the development of a custom Geographical Information System (GIS) Software which would fit the needs of the office in accomplishing tax mapping tasks while enforcing the different rules and regulations imposed by the office, as well as tracking every changes made. It will be linked to an existing application called the Electronic Real Property Taxation and Assessment System (eRPTA System). Internet technologies has been utilized very well in this project and it is used to link the thirty municipalities which made data transfer fast and efficient. As a result of this computerization effort, tax maps including full details can be generated without much effort in a short period of time with correct and precise information.
